There are some well-established reports that provide updates on current situations and assessments of future trends to food and nutrition (in)security. Alongside Food Monitor, the background material contained in the reports below can offer a complementary and broader perspective to food security.
Produced by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the GHI report monitors the hunger situation worldwide. It gives particular attention to regions and countries that are more vulnerable and where action is needed most.
This is a joint annual report of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Programme (WFP). The report contains assessments of current food (in)security situations and underlying causes as well as the progress achieved towards reducing hunger to levels that were set as targets at the 1996 World Food Summit and the Millennium Summit.
While an independent expert group delivers the report, IFPRI oversees its production and dissemination. The global nutrition annual report gathers current practices and actions against malnutrition; identifies problems; and suggests possible ways to address these problems.
